Welcome to the website of DOWNTOWN LAS VEGAS SOCCER CLUB. We are a fully registered Nevada Non-Profit Corporation, and have been determined by the Internal Revenue Service to be a Charity under Rule 501(c)3.

We strive to develop both male and female soccer players to their maximum abilities, by providing some of the highest level of coaching available in Greater Las Vegas. Our focus is to put children in a challenging soccer environment, with the goal of every child acquiring a passion for the World's Greatest Game. Our youth soccer program hopes to teach character and confidence in these kids, by participating at their highest levels achievable. We accept players from throughout the Las Vegas Valley to meet in the traditional youth soccer hotbed of DOWNTOWN LAS VEGAS.

We are affiliated with US Youth Soccer, US Youth Soccer-Nevada and US Club Soccer. Our teams participate in either the Elite Soccer League of Nevada, Silver State Girls Soccer League, Western College Development Academy, Rainbow Youth Soccer League or Sagebrush Youth Soccer League. Our teams compete in most local tournaments, as well as travel to out of state tournaments.

Rober Tabor
Tabor, whose impressive soccer resume includes experience as a Player, Coach, Administrator, Tournament Director, and Board of Director.

As a former player, Tabor's highest honor was serving as Team Captain for UNLV Men's Soccer Team. He was also recognized as an All-Conference Player in 1976.

He has served as Vice President of NV South Youth Soccer League and 1st Vice President of US Youth Soccer-Nevada, overseeing ODP, all tournaments in NV and all competition in NV. Previously, he was Tournament Director for City of North Las Vegas Mayor's Cup, Vegas West Challenge Cup, and Rover Roundup.

As a coach, his U-19 teams have achieved levels of success which have yet to matched in NV, finishing as Regional Finalist. The year he coached NV ODP, his U-16 team won the Western Regional. (the only time in NV history)

Professionally, Tabor has been a Registered Investment Advisor for the past 23 years, specializing in Fiduciary Investing. Currently, He is the only Nevadan with the prestigous designation of Plan Sponsor Retirement Professional (PRP).

Tabor has also served as Board Member for Nevada Association for the Handicapped for 4 years, as well Las Vegas Fremont Rotary Club for 23 years. The City of Las Vegas recently recognized him as its "Citizen of the Month" for his efforts in improving local parks. He is a graduate of LV Chamber of Commerce's "Leadership Las Vegas". Tabor has also been honored by InBusiness Magazine as "Top 40 under 40".

He and Amy, his wife of 20 years, have 3 sons; Trenton, Colin, and Griffin.

Gary Soresman Coaching License: USSF “A”

Gary came to us from Johannesburg South Africa and was awarded a Soccer Scholarship to the University Nevada Las Vegas in 1983. He was a 4 year starter & Standout Defender for the Nationally Ranked Division 1 Program. As the team Captain in his Junior & Senior year he was also recognized as an All Western Conference Player in 1984, 1985 & 1986. Gary Graduated in 1987 from UNLV with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration & Marketing.

Gary played for several Professional Clubs in South Africa. He Played for Highlands Park at the young age of 17, Arcadia Sheppard’s, Dynamos & Wits University. Gary played for the South African Maccabi Team in Israel in 1981 winning a Gold Medal.



Since 1983 Gary has coached various competitive teams in Las Vegas including coaching teams in the ODP Program. He was Director of Coaches for Las Vegas Premier Soccer Club which had over 24 teams.



Gary owned the Advanced Soccer Academy where he coached and directed many successful soccer camps as well as compiling different curriculums for varied ages & abilities. Through all his coaching & directing years Gary has developed an innate ability to help players reach there full potential.



He has served as Vice President of Downtown Las Vegas Soccer Club as well as being a founding member of the club. He also served as Chairman of Nevada South Youth Soccer League.



Professionally Gary has been in the Construction Masonry business for the last 6 years owning
his own Company.



He is Married to Karin & has 3 children, Jade, Calli & Dylan.

Danny Stone

Danny is a full-time professional coach and works in the development and training of elite players. Danny has a knowledge and understanding in many different areas of soccer and is a qualified Gym and Athletic Instructor as well as having qualifications in Sports Nutrition and Weight Management, First Aid Health and Safety, and Child Protection. Through his own training as a professional player and having regular contact with the top coaches, sports psychologists and physical therapists in the English Premier League and MLS, Danny brings extensive knowledge in modern soccer training methods, soccer specific fitness training, sports psychology and sports injury treatment to the players and coaches with whom he works. Through the experience gained from playing Professional Soccer in England, having previously lived and played soccer in America and the elite English Youth Academy system, Danny has a unique understanding and particular expertise in both the English and American soccer systems.

Originally from Liverpool, England, Danny Stone became a professional player in the English Football League. He spent 3 years at English Premier League side Blackburn Rovers Football Club where he spent three years developing his soccer skills both as a player and a coach under the guidance of some of the best coaches the English professional system has to offer. Danny was a key member of the very successful team that reached the 2001 final of the prestigious F.A. Youth Cup against Arsenal Football Club before signing for Notts County Football Club in the English Football League making his debut against Queens Park Rangers.

Brian Crookham - Colorado Rapids Youth Academy Director of Operations
Brian Crookham joined the Rapids staff full-time in May of 2007. As Director of Operations, he is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Rapids Academy.

Under his guidance, the Academy has evolved into a fully-integrated player development structure where players have the ability to enter the club as a developmental player and pursue their dream of one day playing for the Rapids First Team through the MLS Homegrown Player program. Crookham began his career with the organization as the Director of Coaching for the Rapids Academy.

Brian Crookham During the 2008 and 2009 seasons Crookham also assisted head coaches Gary Smith and Fernando Clavijo with the First Team.

For the three years prior to coming to the Rapids full-time, Crookham was the Assistant Technical Director for Colorado Youth Soccer. There he was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Olympic Development Program and worked in coaching education.

Crookham has also served as the color analyst for Rapids television broadcasts on Altitude Sports and Entertainment since 2004.

Prior to his stint at Colorado Youth Soccer, Crookham served as the Men’s Soccer Coach and Assistant Athletic Director at Metropolitan State College in Denver. During his nine-year tenure, the soccer team became nationally-recognized, going from a team that had never before been ranked to as high as number four in the NCAA Division II top 25.

In 2000 the program made its first ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Crookham coached three All-Americans, eleven All-Midwest Region players and the 2001 RMAC Player-of-the-Year. The program was also recognized nationally with Academic Honor Awards in each of the last three seasons he was there. In his role as Assistant Athletic Director, he was responsible for managing the student-athlete eligibility, academic progress, and NCAA rules compliance for the school.

A USSF “A” Licensed coach, Crookham also serves as a USYS Region IV staff coach and an instructor in both state and national coaching education programs for US Soccer.

A native of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Brian currently resides in Highlands Ranch, Colorado with his wife Michelle and their three children, Connor, 5, and 2 year old twins Beth and Sean.

Steve Cooke -Colorado Rapids Adidas Alliance Technical Director
Steve Cooke joined the Rapids staff full-time in February 2010.

Prior to joining the Rapids, Cooke has enjoyed a twenty year full-time coaching career in England and in the United States.

stevecooke A graduate of Carnegie College in Education, Cooke holds both the UEFA “A” Coaching License and the USSF “A” Coaching License.

Cooke came to the United States following a six year career with Sheffield Wednesday Football Club, then of the English Premier League, where he performed duties as Youth Team Coach and Center of Excellence Coach. Additionally, he worked for The Football Association as a tutor and assessor in their coaching education department.

Cooke made the move to Phoenix, Arizona where he spent eight years as the Assistant Director of Coaching at Sereno Soccer Club and a further two years at SC del Sol in the same role.

Steve Cooke's career then took him to Las Vegas, Nevada when he accepted a position as the Director of Coaching for Neusport Football Club. In addition, Steve was appointed as the Director of the boys Olympic Development Program and performed duties as a Coach Educator for the Nevada Youth Soccer Association.

A native of Sheffield, England, Steve resides in Denver, Colorado and has two children, Daniel and Gabrielle.
